The Department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics at Bangladesh Medical College (BMC) focuses on rational drug use, clinical pharmacology, and patient safety through evidence-based prescribing practices and pharmacovigilance. Our faculty trains students in drug therapy optimization, adverse reaction monitoring, and antimicrobial stewardship essential for Bangladesh's healthcare challenges.
We promote rational prescribing through guidelines, formulary management, and therapeutic committees. We contribute to national essential medicines lists and drug policy development while training healthcare providers in evidence-based pharmacotherapy.
Equipped with therapeutic drug monitoring facilities and pharmacovigilance units, we support clinical decision-making, national drug policy, and research on tropical disease pharmacotherapy while training MBBS students and healthcare professionals in safe and effective medication management.
