The Department of Critical Care Medicine at Bangladesh Medical College Hospital provides specialized, round-the-clock care for patients with life-threatening illnesses and complex medical conditions. Our department is dedicated to delivering advanced intensive care through evidence-based practice, modern technology, and a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.
We manage critically ill patients suffering from severe infections, respiratory failure, cardiac emergencies, stroke, trauma, sepsis, multi-organ dysfunction, and post-operative complications. Our focus is on continuous monitoring, timely intervention, and comprehensive supportive care to stabilize patients and improve survival outcomes.
The department is equipped with modern ICU facilities, advanced life-support systems, and collaborates closely with other specialties to ensure integrated and coordinated patient management.
Procedure performed : Endo-trachial intubation, Central venous catheterisation,ABG analysis, Paracentesis,lumber puncture,Chest drain, Tracheostomy , Dialysis Catheterisation and and other necessary life saving and diagnostic procedures.
Diagnostic and Support facilities:Chest x-ray , in house ABG analysis, Bed side ECHO and all other pathological investigations for diagnostic and therapeutic purpose.
Academic and training activities : Regular clinical meeting performed both in the department and also collaborates closely with other specialities.In addition to clinical services, the department supports medical education and promotes research-oriented learning in critical care practices.
