Instructions for the Students

• 01. Students must carry their "IDENTITY CARDS" when in the college.
• 02. Students are expected to attend classes in clean well-dressed clothes and white aprons.
• 03. Fashionable dress, cosmetics, untidy hair, slippers are discouraged on the college campus.
• 04. Finger rings and bangles are impediment in practical classes.
• 05. Smoking is forbidden on the college campus.
• 06. Environment should be kept clean. Students will throw litter into waste bins.
• 07. Pasting of posters on the walls of the college and the hospital premises are prohibited. These are considered as acts of indiscipline and the offenders involved are liable for punishment.
• 08. Closing of college, hospital, and department gates or doors and creating obstacles in the normal functioning are acts of gross indiscipline and students involved in such acts are liable to be expelled from college.
• 09. All types of demonstrations, processions, shouting in the college and hospital premises are prohibited and students involved in that are liable to be expelled from college.
• 10. Abstentions from classes individually or in a mass without prior permission and without valid reasons are punishable by imposition of daily fine of Tk. 1000/- (Taka one thousand) individually. Guardians must maintain contact with respective Phase Coordinators to ensure that their son/daughter is attending classes regularly and performing satisfactorily.
• 11. Students will state their problems/inconveniences to the Counseling Body in their respective phase. The Counseling Body will solve the problem or refer it to the Principal if necessary. Statement of the grievances/problems and inconveniences by the students must be in an orderly and disciplined manner. Any act or indiscipline on the part or any student including usage of abusive words or objectionable words and sentences will make the student liable to be punished by expulsion from the college.
• 12. Students must not misbehave with the staff or employees of the college. Misbehaviour is an act of indiscipline and liable for punishment.
• 13. The students are expected to maintain the highest standard in their academic and private lives. Loss of moral and spiritual values or addiction to alcohol and narcotic drugs are punishable.
• 14. At the time of admission into the college, students and parents/guardians will have to sign a bond that their children/wards will abide by the rules and regulations of the college.
• 15. Every student shall provide for himself/herself all the prescribed textbooks, dissection instruments, and medical equipment. The college will not supply these to the students.
• 16. Leave: in case of illness or other unavoidable reasons for non-attendance a written statement from the parent/guardian should be presented to the guide teacher concerned, who in turn will submit it to the Principal for approval.
• 17. Receiving private coaching from any teacher of BMC is prohibited. If any student or his/her guardians seek private coaching from any teacher of this institution and if it be proved, then he/she (student) may face dismissal from studentship/expulsion from the examination or from college register.
• 18. Cost of loss/damage to college/hospital property is liable to be realized by the student who is found responsible for the loss/damage of the college/hospital property.
• 19. Political activities are not permitted in the college.

Library Rules

Students are allowed to use the library from 8 am to 8 pm on all working days of the week. The Library is closed on Fridays and national holidays. Students are allowed to read in the library. Students are also permitted to borrow books from the library.

College Discipline

Students must observe strict discipline in the college. On disciplinary grounds the following penalties may be imposed on a student, depending on the nature of offence:

1. Warning
2. Fines
3. Suspension from college classes
4. Expulsion from the College, temporarily or permanently

Penalty/penalties imposed on a student will be recorded in his/her "Transcript/Testimonial". A student's name may be removed from College Register under the following circumstances:
• Remaining absent from classes for more than three months without any information.
• Disciplinary ground, on the advice of the Academic Council.
• Non-payment of College dues within three months of due date of payment.

Anti ragging policy: Ragging is banned in BMC. If any student is involved in ragging exemplary punishment will be given according to the institutional rules approved by academic council and disciplinary committee after investigation. Punishments are rustication, suspension for definite period and financial penalty.

Re-Admission

If a student's name is removed from the College Register due to non-payment of dues, he/she may be re-admitted provided he/she pays full arrears dues and a fine of Tk. 10,000/- within 3(three) months of removal of the name from Register. If a student remains absent for more than three months but less than twelve months he/she may be re-admitted on the recommendation of the Academic Council on full payment of arrears dues plus a fine of Tk. 10,000/-. However, if a student remains absent for more than twelve months, he/she will not be admitted into the College except on special permission from the Academic Council of the College on payment of all arrear dues and fine.

College Administration

Principal is the Executive Head. On academic matters, he is advised by the Academic Council of BMC.

College Finance

The college is run on self-financing and non-profit basis.

Staff Selection Procedure
Teachers and staff are selected through Staff Selection Committees. Teachers have to possess qualifications as per requirements of Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council.

Students Participation

Students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities such as:

• ✅ Sports and games.
• ✅ Common room activities.
• ✅ Literary activities such as debates, seminars, and publications of Annual Magazine.
• ✅ Cultural activities.
• ✅ Humanitarian services such as free blood donation and free medicine supply for poor patients, relief works during natural calamities such as cyclones, floods, epidemics etc.
• ✅ Committees consisting of Teachers and Students (Teachers-Students Committees) look after these activities.

Study Tour

There is a provision for study tours in the new curriculum. The students will have to bear cost of study tour in addition to the regular tuition fees and fees at the time of admission.

Guardian's Participation

Guardians Advice on the College affairs is welcome. Two guardians are members of the Governing Body of BMC.

Academic Council

Academic Council meets every 3 month and whenever necessary. They discuss all aspects of academic matter and discipline of student. Academic Council is also responsible for coordination of courses and quality control of education with the participation and designated responsibility of Academic Coordinator and Phase Coordinators and Director, Medical Education Unit.
