Our Bangladesh Medical College (BMC) enforces
strict rules to promote discipline and academic focus. Students must carry identity cards, wear clean attire with
white aprons, and avoid fashionable clothing, cosmetics, smoking, or slippers. Political activities,
demonstrations, posters, and ragging are prohibited. Regular attendance is mandatory, and indiscipline, including
misbehavior or unauthorized coaching, may lead to fines or expulsion.
Students are allowed to use the library from 8 am to 8 pm on all working days of the week. The Library is closed
on Fridays and national holidays. Students are allowed to read in the library. Students are also permitted to
borrow books from the library.
Students must observe strict discipline in the college. On disciplinary grounds the following penalties may be
imposed on a student, depending on the nature of offence:
If a student's name is removed from the College Register due to non-payment of dues, he/she may be re-admitted
provided he/she pays full arrears dues and a fine of Tk. 10,000/- within 3(three) months of removal of the name
from Register. If a student remains absent for more than three months but less than twelve months he/she may be
re-admitted on the recommendation of the Academic Council on full payment of arrears dues plus a fine of Tk.
10,000/-. However, if a student remains absent for more than twelve months, he/she will not be admitted into the
College except on special permission from the Academic Council of the College on payment of all arrear dues and
fine.
Principal is the Executive Head. On academic matters, he is advised by the Academic Council of BMC.
The college is run on self-financing and non-profit basis. Students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities such as:
There is a provision for study tours in the new curriculum. The students will have to bear cost
of study tour in addition to the regular tuition fees and fees at the time of admission.
Guardians Advice on the College affairs is welcome. Two guardians are members of the
Governing Body of BMC.
Academic Council meets every 3 month and whenever necessary. They discuss all aspects of
academic matter and discipline of student. Academic Council is also responsible for coordination of
courses and quality control of education with the participation and designated responsibility of
Academic Coordinator and Phase Coordinators and Director, Medical Education Unit.

Penalty/penalties imposed on a student will be recorded in his/her "Transcript/Testimonial". A student's name
may be removed from College Register under the following circumstances:
• Remaining absent from classes for more than three months without any information.
• Disciplinary ground, on the advice of the Academic Council.
• Non-payment of College dues within three months of due date of payment.
Anti ragging policy: Ragging is banned in BMC. If any student is involved in ragging exemplary punishment will
be given according to the institutional rules approved by academic council and disciplinary committee after
investigation. Punishments are rustication, suspension for definite period and financial penalty.

Staff Selection Procedure
